POLICY

Please note that by registering on our site or by involving yourself in the game, you agree to adhere to the rules and regulations we have set in place to moderate our games and our game's community. It is the responsibility of the registrant to read and follow all of the rules and regulations carefully. If the registrant does not feel that he or she cannot abide by these rules then he/she should refrain from registering. Any player found to be violating our rules will receive a punishment that we deem appropriate.

All of Metin2 and its related merchandise is the sole property of Z8Games and its associates. We retain the right to at anytime restrict the use of our properties to players with or without notice. At no time shall players sell or buy characters, modify any of the products or related products or use the affiliated graphics without our consent. Any and all violations of the aforementioned will incur severe penalties.

[1.0] Account

An Account is issued to a player when they register with the site. The following subsections further define the actions which may be executed to an account due to account behavior or account information being compromised.

Z8Games takes no responsibility for the continued loss of account information over a period of time. Z8Games, in its sole discretion, may deny service to an account or account holder if it deems the account has been compromised multiple times.

[1.1] Account Responsibility

It is the responsibility of the account holder to ensure that the information used to create the account remains remembered by the creator, it is also the original account holder’s responsibility to keep that information confidential. This information may include, but is not limited to; The Login ID information, The Registration Email and the Security Question and Answer. Z8Games takes no responsibility for the inability of the account holder to provide this information. Z8Games will never ask the person or player for their account password.

[1.1.1]Involuntary Account Information Gathering

It is the responsibility of the account holder to ensure that additional measures are taken for the security of the account. This includes but is not limiting to, running regular virus and malware checks, monitoring appropriate file sharing and watching what websites are being clicked on. Z8Games takes no responsibility for the loss of an account due to a ‘phishing’ website, ‘key-logging’ programs or other malicious software.

[1.1.2]Account Sharing

Accounts shall not be shared between people. This includes but may not be limited to such people as friends, relatives, parents, children, spouses, co-workers, clan members etc. It is the responsibility of the account holder to keep all information about the account secure. Z8Games takes no responsibility for an account in which more than one person may know the confidential information of. Accounts involved in sharing instances may require information as listed in [1.1.4] to prove ownership. Z8Games reserves the right to leave the account in its current state or close an account if information can’t be corroborated.

[1.1.3]Responsibility of Actions

All actions taken on an account are the responsibility of its owner. This includes but is not limited to, hacking, acting in an excessively negative nature and abusing bugs. Accounts may have action taken against them no matter who was on the account at any given time. If an account was lost due to a scam and subsequently broke the Terms and Conditions, Z8Games takes no responsibility for the actions performed while the account was lost.

[1.1.4]Account Return Policy

In the event that an account becomes compromised it is the player’s responsibility to contact Z8Games with the most amount of information they can provide. Z8Games may require additional information to prove account ownership. This information includes but is not limited to; the security question and answer, the original Registered Email, the IP address of the registering computer and Financial Transaction receipts/records. If at such time it is impossible for Z8Games to prove ownership then the account may be ignored, left in its current status or closed. It is not the responsibility of Z8Games to return lost accounts to any specific person or player.

Additionally Z8Games staff will only ask for account information as listed above by direct communication through our support site or via telephone communication.

[1.1.5] Selling or Purchasing of Accounts and Game Items

The process of or attempt of selling or purchasing of game accounts, currency or anything for either real money or in another game currency/items is not permitted. Any player found doing so will receive a permanent ban. Players who also state that they intend to carry out this process will be handled the same as those who have carried out the action.

[2.0] Account Closures, Warnings and Suspensions

Z8Games may, at any time, issue Warnings, Suspensions or Account Closures for any conduct that Z8Games believes is in violation of this Agreement or detrimental to the interests of another User or Third Party. In the event an account receives a Warning or Suspension, information will be transmitted to the player via the Z8Games website. It is the players responsibility to contact Z8Games regarding any closures or actions taken on an account within 30 days of said action.

[2.0.1] Account Investigations and Temporary Suspensions

Z8Games may at any time temporarily suspend an account for investigative purposes. The investigation will keep the account unavailable until at which time Z8Games lifts the suspension. The reasons may include but are not limited to; Hacking, Scamming, Account Issues, Monetary issues or anything Z8Games deems necessary to discover more information on.

[2.0.2] Full Account Closure

Z8Games reserves the right to terminate or close any account, without notice, for any conduct that Z8Games in its sole discretion, believe is in violation of the Terms and Conditions or applicable law, or is detrimental to the interests of Z8Games, Another User or any Third Party.

[3.0] Chat Block

The chat window is the main medium of communication amongst players in game. Currently, the chat window allows players to exchange information through four different levels which determine who may see the messages in respect to a range. These penalties can also be enforced for other chat levels if content is found to be inappropriate. This means that inappropriate language, flaming, harassment or any other form of language that is used in negative matter is not permitted. Players found to be abusing the other levels of chat including whisper, will be suspended accordingly.

[3.1] Levels of Chat

[A] Shout - Messages processed here are seen by everyone within a Kingdom. Thus, players must abide by the rules discussed above in this level of chat, otherwise a punishment will be issued accordingly. "Shout" is the highest level of all, which means all players on all channels, will see messages. These messages are constantly filtered for English only. However, players often find ways to send the message using distinct words which do not get filtered. These players are at a risk of losing the privilege to chat altogether. Hence, it is very important to use appropriate terms of communication while respecting all other players rights at all times.

Players who are identified as presenting offensive, inappropriate, aggressive, racial, ethnic, national, discriminative, sexual and violent or any other language we define as simply unacceptable will be warned at first. If this behavior still continues, the ability to chat will be revoked from all the involved participants.

[B] Normal/Party/Guild - Messages are visible to all players who are roaming around a certain range of the sender, in a party or part of Guild respectively. Within these levels of chat, general terms that are widely accepted and used daily are acceptable since there is limitation for visibility of messages sent. However, inappropriate language, content, harassment, flaming or other negative conversations will not be permitted.

[C] Whisper Messages in this category are only seen by the two individuals in the conversation. The same rules of conduct are to be applied to this section as well. Anyone found to be abusing this will be suspended.

[3.2] Spam

Please do not spam.Spam includes the repeated sending of the same Message in various forums and includes using caps and symbols where as to disturb the shout and chat environment. The posting of links or hints to illegal programs/sites such as hacks or cheats is also prohibited.

[4.0] Character Naming Conventions

Character names are the only way of referencing a player in the game environment. These names may be meaningful and attractive. However, they may not contain content that is considered pedophilia, racism sexual, violent, sexual orientation and obscene/vulgar. The first impression other players have of you will be based on your character's name, so it's best to start off on the right foot. While choosing the perfect name for your character is left to your discretion, we have determined that some types of names are not allowed in this game.

[4.1] Sexual Content

Character names which imply any sexual content of any kind is inappropriate and thus not tolerated. This may include words describing sexual behavior or imagery.

[4.2] Racial/Derogatory/Discriminative/Disability Terms

Racial, derogatory, discriminative and/or disability terms are offensive and not attractive to other players in the game. Such names which depict any type of the above mentioned content either implicitly or explicitly are prohibited.

[4.3] Shop names and Horse name

All rules governing naming convections also apply to both shop names and horse names. Players should be respectful of other players when naming. Any names that are found to be inappropriate will receive a suspension or ban.

[5.0] Harassment

Harassment is an issue in any situation which causes insecurity, lack of interest in the game environment and during some situations may pose a threat. Harassment may include calling people inappropriate names, producing offensive or negative remarks, passing rumors or any message in the chat window that is considered offensive in accordance with the "Game Policy".

Harassment of any kind, regardless of the degree, is not tolerated under any circumstances. These matters are taken into serious consideration since the security and the interest of other players are highly important to us. Treat each and every player in a manner that we consider respectful.

[5.1] Physical Harassment

This form of harassment takes place when other players constantly attacks or follow other players to different maps/channels despite the victim's efforts to get away.

[5.2] Verbal Harassment

Verbal Harassment takes many forms, and is not necessarily limited to the type of language used, but the intent. Repeatedly targeting a specific player with verbal remarks is not permitted. The idea behind this is to prevent any one player from consistently being made uncomfortable.

[5.3] Real life threats and giving out personal information

Implying that you are going to locate, give out personal information and/or harm another player, team member, Metin2/Z8Games representative, or any person that might be related in any way to any of the game services is forbidden.

Members may not defraud, harass, threaten, or cause unwanted attention to other players. Any violation will result in a suspension or permanent ban.

[6.0] PvP (Player versus Player)

Every player must respect and realize that each player has equal rights in the game. However, player vs. Player combat is part of the nature of Metin2. We believe all characters have the ability to address their conflicts through combat or other means such as changing channels or moving to other areas of a map. We will only involve themselves in extreme or excessive circumstances.

[6.1] Kill Stealing

Kill stealing is when a group or player attacks a mob(s) that another group or player from the same Kingdom and is not in free mode has already attacked.

We encourage courteous and respectful behavior from our players and hope that Kill Stealing will be avoided through communication with other players.?We will only take action in cases were a video/screenshot clearly showing the offending person' name and offense is provided to us.

[7.0] Impersonation

The term impersonation is the act of mimicking another player, GMs (Game Masters) or administrators. This course of action often leads to misunderstanding, fraud or other illegal operations. If at any time a player is identified as a participant of the above act, he/she will be punished according to the degree of imitation as well as the consequence of the act. Be very careful concerning your behavior within the game environment as some acts may result with a severe penalty regardless of any status.

[8.0] Scam

The term scam applies to gaining any kind of advantage, item, property or information through the use of deception; what constitutes a scam is at the discretion of Z8Games GMs and Support Staff and not all examples are listed here. Therefore, it is a number one concern regarding our players and all necessary actions will be taken to prevent violation of any sort which may lead to scams. Never give out your personal account information; most scams can be prevented by following this advice.

[8.1] In Game Scams

These include scams which occur within the vicinity of the game environment by misleading a player. They include the following: impersonating a guild member, party member, friend or any other team member to exchange valuable item(s), gain advantages or information.

GMs (Game Masters) will never request a player for their password or other personal information in the game environment; also, real GMs and MODs will have [] around their title. Therefore, do not ever provide any information (or an in-game item) to anyone including, but not limited to, your family members, friends or administrators. Please keep your account information secure. We will not take any responsibility for any of a player's losses.

[8.2] Other Scams

Other scams are things relating to external accounts. Any player who utilizes outside means of achieving information, items or property (including user accounts) will fall under this category of scams. These scams may include: using fraud emails to obtain passwords or other account information, selling or buying of user accounts and using real life transactions to buy an in-game item or information or advantage. We do not take any responsibility for any player's loss due to a real life transaction that is executed between two or more players.

[8.3] Item Mall Scams

Z8Games does not authorize any trading of Item Mall equipment for gold, items, or any other in-game benefit. The Item Mall is only for a player's personal use or for use as free gifts for other players. We do not take any responsibility for a player's loss due to a transaction that is executed between two or more players involving Item Mall equipment. Equipment, gold, and/or Item Mall benefits will not be recovered or restored.

Players who are found to be utilizing the Item Mall for scams will have their accounts suspended and/or permanently banned. Players who are involved in chargeback and/or other fraudulent activities related to our Item Mall, PayPal, or a Credit Card will be reported to the legal authorities and their accounts will be permanently banned.

Players are required to report any Item Mall Items/Points they receive from unknown sources. Failure to report these incidences may result in a permanent ban if the sender is involved in a chargeback or another fraudulent activity.

[8.4] Item Mall Chargeback

Accounts that have incurred chargeback will receive penalty fee of $10 USD per chargeback received. Reversal of account closure can be made through full payment including penalty fee in the form of money order; unless stated otherwise by the staff of Z8Games. All payments should be in US dollars and must be accessible in Canada.

All payments are to be mailed to the Z8Games head office, included with a detailed description of all the accounts related the charge. Please note, all chargeback accounts will remain closed until we receive your payments.

Tips to Avoid Scams

[1] Do not give out any personal or account information to anyone by any means ever.

[2] Always keep your account information safe and secure.

[3] Always, report any suspicious players who seem to conduct these activities to avoid future scams.

[9.0] Cheating/Hacking

Cheating and hacking are two critical problems which are encountered during numerous online gaming activities to gain unfair advantages. The internet is a huge resource possessing variety of tools to hack or cheat in a game server. We do not tolerate any kind of cheating or hacking which is concluded by our assessment of a player's results. The hacker's information including the current IP Address will be recorded for future reference and investigation.

These activities are violating the "Z8Games Terms and Condition" and necessary corrective actions will be taken. For instance, permanent ban of this player will be finalized without any means for appeal. It is extremely important to follow all the rules of conduct during your game play and when using the website or the forum.

[9.1] Third party programs

A third party program is any file or program that is not a part of the Metin2 software, but is used to gain an advantage in the game, such as fishing bots, shout bots, level bots or any other programs that alter game play in any way. Any player found using those programs, receiving items or gold from accounts using those programs will be closed.

[9.2] Testing of Cheats/Hacks

Users who do find themselves in the possession of a hack or a cheat tool must not test it in-game even if a Z8Games Staff or affiliate has been notified. Any claim of such acts will be considered as cheating and hacking and the punishments of such actions will be given. If users do find themselves in possession of such tools it must be reported and handed over to Z8Games Staff for testing and must not be given to any other users or posted/uploaded anywhere else.

[9.3] Distribution of Cheats/Hacks

Any users who do not use the Cheats/Hacks themselves, but are distributing them by means of peer to peer transfer, links to websites, and other means of file transfer will have their accounts closed. Helping in the distribution of cheats/hacks promotes illegal activities in the Z8Games Portal and will not be tolerated.

[9.4] Bug Exploitation

Bugs, loopholes, security flaws, or any inconsistencies in the game should be immediately reported to the GM Staff. Any player found to be abusing this knowledge to gain an unfair advantage over other players will receive punishment.?When reporting bugs, please give us as much information as you can; such as character, location, time as well as the events leading to the bug.

[10.0] Staff Harassment

Any complaints against staff should be presented in a clear manner, free of any profanity or personal attacks. Slanderous/personal attacks/profane communications against staff members will not be tolerated, and will result in the offending comments removed, as well as a ban for the offender.

Do not oppose the instructions of authorized personnel while playingMetin2 or on its forums. Take into account that a member of the game support team might block on a temporary or permanent basis, accounts which may or may not have broken any of the points above. At the same time take into consideration any inappropriate behavior on any of our services might end up in a permanent or temporary ban from the whole community and its services.

Time spent dealing with issues that have already been closed keeps both GM and support staff from addressing other players' pressing issues. If a single player or multiple players repeatedly send abusive tells, abusive petitions, or multiple petitions on the same closed issue to the Support staff, they will be asked to stop, and if they continue, may receive an account penalty.

[10.1] False Reports

Both GM and support staff work diligently to address the problems of players; however abuse of this service will not be tolerated. Sending tickets when the claims are known to be false not only wastes the time of support as they investigate but also causes other players to wait longer to be responded to. Therefore any account found to providing the wrong information or sending a false claim will receive a suspension or permanent account closure.

[10.2] GM Assistance

GMs are in game to provide assistance in game related issues and monitor game activities.?Players should not approach GMs to ask for items, gold, power leveling, spawning monsters or any other game /character enhancements. GMs will not create items for you and should not be requested to join a guild or party unless it is related to a game/account problem.  Violating these rules consistently will result in suspension.

[10.3] GM Team

The instructions and decision of the Metin2 team are to be respected. Do not go around one GM's decision to another GM, this will lead to your removal from the game. If you are not happy with a GM's decision please contact complaint@g4box.com. Offenses against the rules are punished by a simple suspension; repeat offenses will result in the permanent banning of your player account.

[10.4] Defrauding or Attempting to Defraud a GM or support staff

Whenever possible, we try to give players the benefit of the doubt in questionable situations. We hope players do not attempt to take advantage of this trust, and provide their full cooperation. However, if we later find that an attempt was made to defraud a GM, the offending player will have action taken against them. Attempts to defraud a GM include, but are not limited to, misdirecting a GM's attention, withholding information, providing or reporting false information and any attempt to "trick" a GM or support staff.

[10.5] Disobeying or Ignoring GM Instructions

At times it may be necessary for a GM to ask a player to perform certain actions or refrain from performing other actions. In addition, if a GM contacts you regarding a violation of policy, please try to be as cooperative as possible. In any situation, the GMs will be attempting to preserve the enjoyment of the game for the majority of players and any interference with this work may result in an account penalty.

[10.6] Excessive use of Abusive Language towards Staff

It is understandable that a player contacting the GM or support Staff might be upset over an issue stemming from an experience they had in the game. However, the use of abusive or foul language directed toward the GMs or support Staff is inappropriate and unproductive. If a player uses this type of language when communicating with a GM, they will be asked to stop, and if they continue, may receive an account penalty.

[11.0] Character and Item Restoration Policy

We are not responsible for item(s) lost due to being hacked, trade scams, account sharing, or for any other reasons that are beyond the control of Z8Games. However, if you do have screenshots with conclusive evidence that you have been wronged, depending on the situation, we may be able to return none/some/all of your items.

If an item is lost that that is needed for a particular quest or was due to an error on our part and you report the incident within 72 hours of occurring, we will return the item after a period of investigation In the result your character(s) have been deleted we will restore the Character if possible; however, we will not be responsible for any items that may have disappeared.

Due to the many variables while investigating reports, your reimbursement, if approved, may not be immediate. Keep in mind that a player and the account registered to him/her will be permitted a limited number of instances in which the Support staff will assist with property recovery. We reserve the right to refuse restoration at any time if we feel that an excessive number of requests have been made in this particular category or if too much time has passed since the item(s) or character(s) were lost. Please note that restorations are limited, not guaranteed, and are at the sole discretion of Z8Games.

Please note that due to the amount of content we support, our logs are not indefinite. While we will always attempt to help whenever we can, this may impact you when requesting the restoration of a character(s) or item(s), and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

By involving yourself in the game, you acknowledge that you agree to these and all other relevant rules and will abide by them regardless of the circumstances. In addition you also agree that these rules will apply to anyone that you allow to use your Z8Games' account or user ID. By allowing another user to use your account, you are personally responsible for all the consequences (including termination of your account) which may result, if the above discussed person violates any of the listed rules at any time you will not be entitled to a refund of any monies paid by you.

Further, you acknowledge that if your account and right to use the Z8Games' service is terminated by Z8Games or any affiliate of theirs for any reason, you will not be entitled to a refund of any kind.

Z8Games reserves the right to change rules and/or add new rules at any time. Therefore, it is your responsibility to check the Z8Games' website from time to time to review any rule(s) alterations that Z8Games may have made.

Lastly, you agree to read carefully the terms and conditions set forth on the Z8Games' service agreement that is posted on the Z8Games website.
